BURNHAM 2 WINGATE AND FINCHLEY 2
Traffic congestion meant that the game kicked off 15 minutes late, but the visitors who had little preparation time were quickly into their stride. Burnham playing just their second home game of the season could have fallen behind in the first minute, defender Ricky Hone was caught in possession and Lamb was just wide with his shot. However with the Burnham defence still looking uncertain, Wingate took the lead on 4 minutes. This time Dan Hicks was caught out and the ball transferred quickly to ALFIE BARTRUM who put the ball away despite keeper Chay Morris getting a hand on the ball. The visitors who had defeated the Blues 3-0 earlier in the season, appeared more cohesive and played some neat passing football. The game played at a high tempo saw Burnham gradually get forward more and Jordan Dowdican was doing well up front and on 20 minutes they pulled level. Emlyn Hill delivered a corner from the right and DAN HICKS powered in a header beyond keeper Hoeton. The second half developed into a entertaining encounter, which was excellently officiated, Burnham got their noses in front on 51 minutes and it was a superb piece of individualism from JORDAN DOWDICAN. He cut in from the left leaving defenders in his wake to plant the ball wide of Horton. The game ebbed and flowed with both sets of forwards getting caught offside, with Burnham being the worst offenders. Wingate pulled the scores level on 65 minutes, good work down the right by the lively Brewster ended with a well delivered cross into the Burnham area where WARREN GRADDY netted from close in. Wingate ended the game stronger and the Blues did well to hold on for a point with keeper Chay Morris impressing for them
